We Love Washington Boulevard

We Love Washington Boulevard

by Latitude33, Aug 11, 2010

Some of Latitude 33’s favorite spots are right in our own block. Washington Blvd is a special place as it’s where the Marina Del Rey Natives and Venetians mix and mingle on the beach.  Just steps to the east, the west and even right across the street from Latitude 33. As part of our WE LOVE WASHINGTON BOULEVARD blog series, we’d like to introduce you to three of our favorite places on Washington Blvd.

 Hinano’s

Hinano CafeHinano CafeThis might be the best burger in LA; although, it’s certainly not the fanciest. There’s no arugula, no secret sauce and there’s certainly no hype. What there is - is an awesome no frills, old school burger on a bun. Come in after a swim, surf or ride because there is no dress code? dress code at this Washington Blvd hot spot; just a killer burger and a slew of beers on draft.

Mercede’s Grill

Oh those mojitos! Cuban food – redefined. This artsy little joint is home to the boulevard’s tastiest mojito and much more. The food is terrific and healthy so you won’t bulge out of that bathing suit and the service is friendly. The Bartolito and Mercede’s Favorite Salad served with a minty mojito are always a great way to begin or end a ride on the strand.

 The Whaler

Sunset views, excellent people watching and live music reigns at the Whaler. The Whaler has been providing locals with food, entertainment and the best seat on the boardwalk for almost a century. Their patio sits on the famed Venice Boardwalk with a view overlooking the pier. You never know what’s gonna happen at the Whaler- just last month Stevie Wonder stopped by for a jam session.  We’re just happy to be on the same block.
